Join us for our December meeting with Amy Barnes who is the co-founder of Books Between Kids. Amy and Sandra Ahlhorn created Books Between Kids in 2012 when they saw the inequities and uneven distribution of children’s books in homes across the Houston community. Amy’s work stems from a passion of ensuring every kid, regardless of income, is a book owner. A native Houstonian and University of Houston graduate, Amy and her husband Alistair have three sons. In addition to being an avid reader all her life, Amy enjoys working in the garden, crocheting, and spending time outdoors. She is active with her church St. John the Divine and in her Houston area neighborhood.
