YOUR LIFE, YOUR LEGACY

The four most compelling words in the English language are “Once upon a time….”  Humans are natural storytellers.  By sharing stories from our lives and listening to others share theirs, we connect with each other by sharing our common experiences.  Through our life stories, we…

share traditions and rites of passage,

              preserve our personal values,

document the milestones in our lives,

              celebrate our life choices, and

leave a legacy to future generations.

Mark your calendar to gather with your friends and Joyce Boatright, educator, writer and storyteller, whose experience in teaching/facilitating memoir writing courses spans over twenty years. Joyce will guide you in capturing interesting stories from your life and putting a few on paper for your enjoyment.

We will focus on the two main elements of a good story: characters you care about and a plot that matters.  Now, take a moment and think about your life story.  The protagonist is you, and the other characters are the people you care about.  The plot is the ebb and flow of your life - your dreams, your challenges, and your choices, you accomplishments, your hard earned wisdom - a plot that matters a great deal to you, right?

Bring pen and paper and let Joyce help you reminisce about the times of your life.  Sharing is encouraged, but never required.

Cost: $40.00 (includes morning refreshments and lunch)
